Fertility Checkup and Its Importance, Experts say it’s time to visit a doctor if you have had regular sexual intercourse without birth control for 12 months if you are under the age of 35 or for 6 months if you are over age of 35. More and more couples are postponing having children as they try to balance their careers and other life goals with their desire to have kids. Waiting for a long time may run into fertility problems. If becoming a parent is one of your future goals, you should start to wonder if you should get fertility test. The earlier you decide to become a parent, the more options your doctor will suggest you.
Fertility Checkup will help you to plan your family by providing an initial overview of your reproductive system. This checkup is individual for women and men and will determine couples’ potential for getting pregnant. So it is important that couples should visit fertility specialists together. Specialist will start by asking questions about your health and lifestyle. Medical history including surgeries, medications and whether you smoke, drink alcohol, using caffeine and drugs. Specialist will also want to know your sex life such as the frequency, birth control, sexually transmitted diseases or problems when you have sex.
Your fertility doctor must diagnose infertility and here are the some risk factors that you may have: Uterine fibroids, Polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, blocked fallopian tubes, pelvic inflammatory disease, diabetes, cancer, thyroid disease.

Varicoceles can be determined by the physical examination. With a surgery it can be fixed. Your doctor will decide whether a genetic test is required for you.
